Peter Jackson (Bass)
Peter Jackson has been playing bass guitar in working bands ever since leaving school in 1967, originally forming a band with two school mates. When he was 18, he was playing in a resident band at a licensed restaurant.
Over the past 45 years Peter has played in a variety of bands gaining vast experience in all genres of music, including Jazz, Rock, R & B, Pop, Funk, Blues, cabaret etc. He has played at a diverse range of venues including the Windsor Castle, Mon Desir, Thunderbird Valley Inn, Orewa Trust Tavern, the Tabla, Varsity Café, NZBC Radio Theatre and hundreds of others.
During his music career he has provided backing for or worked with a wide range of artists and performers, some no longer with us. He is a Jazz player at heart - he loves the freedom, enjoys improvising and takings risks with his music.
These days, with Good Oil, he is enjoying playing music more than at anytime in his 45-year career, and would never turn down an opportunity to play.
