Kim Crossan

Vocalist/Percussion

Kim was born and breed in the deep south,a mainlander and proud of it. Music is in her blood, inheriting her talent from Mum(she played the piano). Kim took piano lessons during her younger years, but when she reached high school, music went in one direction and Kim in another.

However, like most people who love music, her interest resurfaced again in her late teens. She was fortunate enough to join a rock/covers band as the lead female vocalist in a band called “Morning Light”. Based in Hamilton this band played at various gigs doing cover songs of that era.

A move to Auckland to the “big smoke” to see if they could break in to the music circuit resulted in them playing at pubs etc around Auckland and upper north island. A good time was had by all, but like a lot of bands people move on and eventually after 5 years they all parted company and went their separate ways.

Kim then joined a brother and sister duo and enjoyed playing various gigs, restaurants circle etc, this was great fun and is where she had the chance to expand her repertoire into other styles of music, country, easy listening, blues etc.

Kim’s career in business moved from strength to strength and she then started her own marketing company. However life has a way of opening doors, enter muso friend, David Peryman (Mr P). Mr P was forming a band playing jazz/blues and easy listening music, this was an opportunity not to be missed, not only would it be jazz/blues covers but some amazing original music written by Mr P.

Blues/Jazz, is very much the style of singing Kim feels passionate about. Her enthusiasm has extended to taking lessons with Suzanne Lynch. What an amazing singing coach and person, Kim says thanks Suzanne, you’re the best!!!

Kim now has truly found the things she is passionate about in life, so really there’s not much else one would want for in life, well maybe just one other thing…….

“a smooth red wine"
where else would you get a name like
